Cetearyl Alcohol 50/50 Flakes
emulsifier, thickener and emollient
Cetearyl Alcohol 50/50 is a mixture of cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol in equal proportions (50% cetyl and 50% stearyl). It is a nonionic emulsifier and thickener used in cosmetic and personal care products to improve texture, stability, and the emollient properties of formulations.

FUNCTION
emulsifier: stabilizes mixtures of Oil and water, forming emulsions mild.thickener: increases the viscosity, improving the texture.emollient: softens and acondiciona the skin.stabilizer: prevents the separation of phases.
APPLICATIONS
creams, lotions, balms, products moisturizing and anti-aging.conditioners, masks hair, Treatments moisturizing.gels of bath, Liquid Soaps, deodorants in cream.bases of makeup, products in cream and compactos.
Storage: store in cool place and dry, protected of the light direct and fuentes of heat. life life prolonged low conditions appropriate.
Practical Formulation Guide
Uses and Applications: Creams, lotions, and emulsions where stabilization of an aqueous phase and an oil phase is required.
Incorporation Method: Incorporate into the recommended phase and work at a temperature high enough to melt and homogenize. Consider HLB, oil-phase load, and electrolytes.
Dosage: Many emulsifiers are initially evaluated at approximately 2–8%, but the supplier-specific range and the composition of the formula must take precedence.
Critical Points: Validate thermal stability, centrifugation, and cold/heat cycles. Increasing the emulsifier does not always correct an unstable emulsion.
Good Practices: Perform stability and compatibility testing in the final formula. The supplier's TDS, COA, and SDS take precedence over any general guidance range.
