Elastin
active protein-based - firming and of appearance youthful
Hydrolyzed elastin is obtained through mild partial hydrolysis of bovine neck tendons, producing fragments of different molecular weights. The highest molecular weight (70,000) corresponds to alpha-elastin, an essential component in the structure of natural elastin. Fragments with molecular weight below 10,000 are removed by ultrafiltration because they do not contribute effectiveness. Unlike many commercial elastins, this one retains the protein structures necessary to achieve real cosmetic efficacy.
