CARBOMER 940
Description: Crosslinked synthetic acrylic acid polymer used as a gelling agent, viscosity modifier and emulsion stabilizer in cosmetic and personal care formulations.

| Properties | Forms clear viscous gels, modifies viscosity, stabilizes emulsions and suspends insoluble particles in formulations. |
| Applications | Skin care gels, serums, creams and lotions; hair gels and conditioners; gel-based makeup; antibacterial hand gels; bath and shower gels; pharmaceutical topical gels. |
| Recommended Usage | 0.1 – 1.0% depending on the desired viscosity. Clear gels: 0.5 – 1.0%. Creams and lotions: 0.1 – 0.5%. |
| Handling | Disperse in water with constant agitation and allow to hydrate for approximately 30 minutes before neutralizing with an alkaline agent such as triethanolamine or sodium hydroxide. |
| Storage | Store in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight, heat and humidity. Keep containers tightly closed to avoid moisture absorption. |
