PREMIUM COLLAGEN
Description: Premium collagen containing approximately 3% soluble natural collagen extracted from the skin of young animals, equivalent to about 300 micrograms of hydroxyproline per ml in a slightly acidic aqueous medium (pH 3.8) and preserved with Phenonip. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
| Classification | Protein-based cosmetic active |
| Solubility | Miscible with water and alcohol-water mixtures containing up to 20% alcohol. Insoluble in oils and fats. |
| Properties | Helps regenerate skin that has become inelastic or dehydrated due to loss of soluble collagen and is suitable for areas prone to wrinkles such as the eye contour, face, neck and back of the hands, as well as rough areas like elbows and knees. |
| Applications | Oil-in-water creams (O/W), liquid emulsions (O/W), emulsified gels and hydro-alcoholic lotions containing up to 20% alcohol. |
| Recommended Usage | 3 – 5% w/w. When used in combination with elastin, the maximum recommended level is 5%. |
| Handling | Incorporate during the final stage of manufacturing when the temperature has decreased to approximately 35 °C. |
| Precautions | Do not expose to temperatures above 35 °C. Do not combine with solutions containing more than 20% alcohol, acids, alkalis or heavy metal salts. Avoid processing with formaldehyde or formaldehyde-releasing preservatives, chloroacetic acid, acetic acid or hydrochloroguanidine. |
| Storage | Store at temperatures between 15 °C and 25 °C, avoiding freezing and direct sunlight exposure. Keep containers tightly closed and protected from light. |
